Meaningless Post

Wow...

I'm tired.

I told you it was meaningless. :-)

Ugh...

Boy, as much as I like Toyota and NASCAR, I hate to see this:

Toyota to enter Nextel Cup and Busch in 2007

A foreign car has no place in an American sport with American auto brands. I love them as personal cars and trucks (which will be my next big purchase), but leave them out of The Cup. We can't even keep a true U.S. sport truly American now.

Picture Post

Nursery (Before Christmas '05... and messy)

Nursery (After Christmas '05)

The reason we have the nursery. :-) She's 19 weeks in this picture. She's now almost 34 weeks.

Hey! How 'bout an update?

Sure! Okay! Here we go!

-Well, I'm not that chipper. :-) It's been a really good week at work, though. I've had a lot of fun being day side this week. Don't ask why. I don't know why. It's just been nice.

-We just got back from the hospital. No, we're not ready to pop yet. We were visiting two of our really good friends who just had their first baby a couple of days ago. It was great to see their new boy.

-We are counting down in a major way, though. Almost six weeks to go! We're very anxious, and Amy is even more tired and hurting. Third trimester blues, my friend.

-I'm also in the middle of getting all of our tax stuff squared away. I want to be completely done before our little girl comes.

-My old college buddies, Michael and Clayton, came down this past weekend. We used to all work together at WVUA. It was awesome to spend some time with them. Come back soon!!

-Can you tell these are just random thoughts? That's why the blog is called "East Alabama Ramblings."

-The new Xbox is doing well. Very well. :-) Where are you, Salty?

-I might as well post some pictures for you. I'm going to do so in just a bit.

-That's all for now. I'm sleepy, and my brain has dumped enough out for now. :-)

Breathe in... breathe out...

Ok. I'm better. A lot better.

And not only because Saturday is coming soon...

No details

Wow... my frustration from the end of last year just reared its ugly head again. I'm tired of feeling this way.

I wish our baby will get here soon and take my mind off things. Just seven more weeks to go...

If I only had HD...

Miracle of miracles...

I got some Christmas cash and Best Buy gift cards over the holidays. My goal? Save up for the Xbox 360.

It turns out I had enough to get one. The next challenge was actually finding it. I asked a Best Buy dude Tuesday when they'd get them in, and he tells me that very night.

After only four hours of sleep (due to covering an overnight story), I was at the store when it opened Wednesday morning. What do my drowsy eyes see? A stack of them sitting in the floor just waiting for me to get one.

So I did... and it is glorious! I've only got one game so far ("Condemned") because nothing else really suits me. I played it tonight for the first time, and I am hooked.

I've also got to get up for work in five hours, so adios! Viva la 360!

Hi-ho, hi-ho...

Well, I guess I'll do the obligatory holiday update post.

First of all, Christmas was a lot of fun, but there was way too much traveling for my pregnant wife. She became quite sick after five days of travel. She's not allowed to have any more long trips until after our daughter is born.

I did finish painting the nursery. I also got the chair rail and border up. Now, we're just waiting on furniture to arrive. I'll post a couple of before and after pictures later.

I go back to work tomorrow. I'm not really looking forward to it. In fact, I'm dreading it. Not for the reasons you might suspect. The reason is simple: Too much work around the house these last 10 days, and I don't feel like I've been on vacation. However, I am glad I didn't have to dwell on story ideas. That's the only part of my job I dislike.

I've watched football all day. Bama was not expected to win the Cotton Bowl, but they did as I mentioned in my last post. The NCAA all-time bowl appearances, bowl wins, and 10-win seasons grew by one more. By the way... Did Auburn show up for the Capital One Bowl? I didn't think so, either. :-) And how about that Notre Dame? Ha! Bama fans tend to hate the Irish if you didn't know.

We're just two months away from our first child! On that happy note, I'll close for the evening. I hope 2006 is awesome for you!

Roll Tide!

Happy New Year! Bama beat Texas Tech 13-10 to win the Cotton Bowl! Another 10-win season!
